Open Postion: Street Maintainer

Reports Directly to: Barry Dees, Street Department

Reports Indirectly to: Dustin Patterson, Public Works Manager

Starting Salary: $24.00-$28.00 - Salary based on experience and qualifications

Key Accountabilities of the Position: Maintains all Village of Chatham property.

Maintainer Duties:

  • Will operate all Village of Chatham equipment to include backhoes, dump and tandem trucks, skid loader and sewer vacuum in a safe and professional manner
  • Maintain village property under the direction of a lead worker
  • Operates snow removal equipment to maintain streets, sidewalks, and driveways of Village properties
  • Duties as assigned by Lead Worker, Public Works Manager, or Village Manager
  • Works closely with other Village departments as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Be able to regularly lift and /or move up to 100 pounds
  • Must possess or be able to obtain within the probationary period a State of Illinois CDL Driver’s license
  • Must live or acknowledge moving within 20 minutes of Chatham; Chatham Resident is a plus.
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • General understanding of computers and have some knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Great attitude and work ethic
