2020-03-16 Update Village Operations due to COVID-19 concerns across the United States

As additional precautions and procedures are being put in place to address the concerns of COVID-19 across the United States, the Village is focused on the necessary steps and procedures to insure the continuous operation of critical functions and limit any potential impacts to our staff or residents, and minimize any service interruptions.

We continue to monitor information and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control, Illinois Department of Public Health, and the Sangamon County Department of Public Health, as well our associations and community partners to implement mandates and best practices at this time.  We continue to encourage everyone to review and follow the recommendations for these professional organizations.

To that end, the Village is locking the offices for Public walk-ins and non-emergencies and would like to take the opportunity to remind our utility customers of options that are available for paying utility bills as opposed to in-person drop-off.

Pay Your Utility Bill on Line: https://www.chathamil.net/billpay

Pay Your Utility Bill by Phone: Dial 217-483-2451, Pick option 2 and follow instructions.

Pay Your Utility Bill by Drop Box: Drop box is on the East side of Building.

Building Permits: Dial 217-483-2451, Pick option 5 and follow instructions.

We need You to verify the Phone Number we have for your residents: Call 217-483-2451, tell them you are calling to Verify your phone number with the Village, give them your address and phone number.

We also encourage residents of the Village to sign-up for our village-wide notification system by visiting https://www.chathamil.net/notifications-alerts

This system provides the quickest and most efficient method of information delivery from the Village of Chatham.  Keep in mind that the most recent and most relevant information regarding COVID-19 will come from the experts in the medical and public health communities.
